Dr. Marcus Bright is an author and impact professional who has had worked with institutions, organizations, and communities to build partnerships and put processes in place that generate access, opportunities, and resources for socioeconomic mobility. He currently specializes in business development for a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) where he focuses on facilitating mission-driven lending and impact investing.
He has taught at five universities and held administrative posts across various sectors including higher education, school district, non-profit, and government entities. Dr. Bright has published three books that were Amazon #1 ranked new releases in their respective categories.
Additionally, he has published over 200 articles in numerous publications and has spoken across the country on a variety of topics related to public policy, education, and social justice.
As the Senior Advisor for the Rising Coaches Alliance, which was made up of a dozen coaching organizations and was among the largest organized groups of basketball coaches in the World, he helped lead an “Equality and Inclusion Campaign” across college basketball that included partnerships with over 150 colleges and universities.
He served as an administrator for the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project and has held administrative posts at Florida International University, City University of New York Medgar Evers College, Miami-Dade County Economic Advocacy Trust, and the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Office of Educational Equity, Access, and Diversity.
He served as Executive Director of Education for a Better America (EBA); a non-profit organization that partnered with school districts, universities, churches, and community organizations in over 15 cities across the nation to conduct educational programming and enhance public policy engagement. He taught public administration at Florida International University, Lynn University, City University of New York Medgar Evers College, Florida Atlantic University, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
He received a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Florida International University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Government and World Affairs from the University of Tampa.
