Gas prices have sharply decreased this week, plunging nearly 30 cents a gallon in Florida. South Florida also saw a double-digit drop, and the plunge brought back under-$4-a-gallon gas to Bradenton, Orlando and the Tampa Bay areas.
“Florida drivers are finally seeing relief at the gas pump after a sharp run-up in prices last month,” AAA said in a statement from spokesperson Mark Jenkins. But the average price in Miami and Fort Lauderdale is still 19 cents a gallon higher than a month ago and $1.13 higher than a year ago, according to GasBuddy, a national fuel monitoring service that surveys nearly 1,700 stations in South Florida
