Ariel & Enjoliqué Aytch Lett 

It was Dollar Burger Tuesday.

Ariel Lett invited his colleague, Enjoliqué, out for a bite to eat, yet the burger was the last thing on his mind.

“I always thought she was incredibly beautiful and incredibly intelligent,”  said  Ariel Lett,  managing attorney of Lett Law Firm.

Back then, they both clerked for federal judges. What started off as a purely professional relationship shifted. A romance ensued, but then Enjoliqué pumped the brakes. She wanted to be sure that they were on the same page at the same time. 

“We had very explicit conversations about marriage and what that looked like for me,” she said, expressing she had zero interest in being a perpetual girlfriend.

There was also an age gap.

“I tried to be very sensitive to what someone in their 20s would be experiencing and the pace that they wanted to go, as opposed to someone in their 30s,” she explained.

Ariel recalls his thought process at the time: “Is having a little more fun in my 20s worth giving up who I think could be the love of my life?” he questioned.

Nope. 

He made haste, and proposed in the open waters of Belize by twilight on a boat ride.

They’ve been married for six years and If you speak to them, you’ll notice how often they encourage each other. 

Like when Enjoliqué proudly describes her husband as a “unicorn,” noting how difficult it was to obtain a clerkship straight from law school.

Or when he, just as eagerly, refers to her character, while praising her success.

“Iron sharpens iron,” remarks Ariel. “It was important for me that my partner was a force in her own right; somebody I could go toe to toe with,” he said.

And she does.

Enjoliqué now serves as United States Magistrate Judge for the Southern District of Florida.

And while both are flourishing in their careers, they have also achieved success where it matters the most:

  “Before I ever thought about being a husband I always thought about being a father,” said Ariel. 

Fulfilling his greatest wish, the two share a son and a daughter,  making their family complete.
