Legacy Magazine proudly presents our 2025 Most Prominent & Influential Black Women in Business and Industry edition—a powerful celebration of excellence, leadership, and impact. This issue is more than a recognition; it is a statement of gratitude and respect for the women who continue to shape industries, build institutions, and uplift communities through vision, resilience, and purpose.
Across South Florida and beyond, Black women are driving innovation in corporate leadership, entrepreneurship, healthcare, education, finance, government, technology, and the nonprofit sector. Too often, their contributions are underreported or overlooked.
At Legacy Magazine, our mission has always been to document, elevate, and preserve Black excellence, and this edition stands firmly within that purpose. The women honored here are not only successful in their fields—they are influential architects of opportunity, mentorship, and generational progress.
Each honoree represents a unique story of perseverance and achievement. Collectively, they demonstrate what is possible when talent meets determination and when leadership is rooted in service. These women are boardroom decision-makers, business founders, change agents, and community champions whose influence extends well beyond titles and accolades.
Lastly, we pause to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Dr. Barbara Montford, who recently passed.
Dr. Montford was a highly accomplished physician, a remarkable leader, and a true pioneer. She received multiple recognition awards from Legacy Magazine and numerous other organizations throughout her distinguished career. Notably, she served as President of the Dade County Medical Association and was recognized as the first African-American woman to hold that esteemed position.
Beyond her professional achievements, she was a wonderful person whose legacy will continue to inspire generations. Dr. Montford, you will be deeply missed.
