DR. TAMEKA BRADLEY NAMED 2026 BLACK ACHIEVERS HONOREE

JM Family Enterprises has announced that Dr. Tameka Bradley has been named the 2026 Black Achievers Honoree for Education.

Bradley is being recognized for her commitment to preserving history and expanding educational opportunities for South Florida’s youth.

Bradley, a historian, author and public humanities leader,  serves as regional manager of Broward County Library’s African American Research Library and Cultural Center in Fort Lauderdale.

In 2023, she launched the Black History Saturday School Series, creating educational experiences for learners of all ages. She is the author of the award-winning nonfiction book, “Democracy Abroad, Lynching at Home: Racial Violence in Florida.”

 

 

DANNY P. FELTON, SR. APPOINTED NAREB NATIONAL PRESIDENT-ELECT

South Florida real estate and community leader Danny P. Felton, Sr. was sworn in as president-elect of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) during the organization’s 78th Annual Convention in Las Vegas.

Felton will serve as the next president of NAREB, bringing a South Florida voice to the national leadership of the organization.

Founded in 1947, NAREB has championed advocacy, homeownership, opportunity, and meaningful representation in the real estate industry while working to strengthen communities across the nation.

 

 

 

BALDWYN ENGLISH RECEIVES PROMOTION

Florida Power & Light Company has promoted Baldwyn English to external affairs initiatives director for Broward County, where he will lead the company’s local strategy and strengthen relationships with government, business and community stakeholders.

A South Florida native, English brings decades of professional and civic leadership to the position. His community service includes board involvement with the Port Everglades Association and the Museum of Discovery and Science.

English earned his law degree, cum laude, from Texas Southern University and holds a business degree from Florida International University. His legal training, business background and extensive experience in community engagement and civic leadership position him to advance FPL’s external affairs strategy and build strong partnerships throughout Broward County.

 

 

CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS HONORS MYLES PISTORIUS

Myles Pistorius was recently recognized by the city of Miami Gardens.

The commendation highlights his commitment to the city and his excellence in contributing to community engagement.

Pistorius joined the Miami Dolphins as senior vice president and general counsel in 2015. In his role, he is responsible for the oversight of legal, government affairs and community affairs matters related to the Miami Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium and the F1 Miami Grand Prix.

Pistorius received his juris doctor from Columbia Law School and a bachelor’s degree with honors in political science from Rutgers University.

 

 

MIAMI-DADE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PRESIDENT EARNS RECOGNITION

Gordon Eric Knowles is the 2026 Black Achievers Honoree for business and Entrepreneurship.

As CEO and president of the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce, Florida’s oldest historically Black chamber, Knowles has dedicated his career to advancing entrepreneurship and expanding opportunities for minority-owned businesses throughout South Florida.

Through strategic advocacy, Knowles has helped transform Miami-Dade’s procurement and contracting landscape, expanding access for Black-owned businesses to compete for major development and infrastructure projects.

Knowles is an active mentor and invests his time and resources in programs that inspire future generations.
