With all the subtlety of a Sam Bennett elbow, I am here to remind you that Sunday is Mother’s Day.

Now, in our house, a typical Sunday has been reserved weeks in advance with “projects,” and a tradition like Mother’s Day can be a moving target: The mom in my house is good as long as the weekend includes some kind of outing, something to get us out of our Netflix zone. (Have you seen the Tina Fey-Steve Carell remake of “The Four Seasons”? Definitely worth a binge.)

Here are some ways to celebrate with dinner, a drink or a Smiths tribute band, and allow you to keep your schedule open on Sunday. Which is when the Florida Panthers happen to be duking it out in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. (And it’s Mother’s Day!)
