Gas prices are higher in South Florida compared to a week ago as drivers get back to work after the long Memorial Day weekend. As of Tuesday, May 26, gas prices in the state are an average 10 cents higher across Florida.

The average Miami-area price is 39 cents a gallon higher per gallon than a month ago and $1.36 higher than a year ago, according to GasBuddy, a national fuel monitoring service that surveys nearly 1,700 stations in South Florida
