Greetings!
As Mayor of Miami-Dade County and on behalf of our nearly 3 million residents, I am proud to welcome you to the 30th annual American Black Film Festival, with this year’s theme being “Homecoming.” This year’s theme will pay a tribute to the festival’s rich legacy and the expansive community it has cultivated over three decades.
The sharing of stories and the opportunity to engage with people of all backgrounds and experiences is one of our community’s greatest strengths. Through the groundbreaking screenings you will witness here, diverse stories will be told, shared, and experienced, creating a greater awareness of and connection to the Black community. This milestone event will honor the past while looking toward the future, reaffirming ABFF’s role as the premier destination for discovering and showcasing film and television content by and about people of African descent.
Miami-Dade is proud to celebrate the American Black Film Festival as it returns to our County, contributing to our culturally rich, welcoming, and world-class community. I wish all the organizers, participants, and attendees another successful film festival.
Warmly,
Daniella Levine Cava
Mayor, Miami-Dade County
