The Urban Forestry Plan is Miami-Dade’s blueprint to reach the County’s goal of 30% urban tree canopy cover.
At the direction of Mayor Levine Cava and the request of the Board of County Commissioners, Miami-Dade County’s Regulatory and Economic Resources Divisions of Environmental Resources Management and Office of Environmental Risk and Resilience together with the Department of Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces developed the plan to inform residents, businesses, and stakeholders of the state of our urban forests and the challenges they face. Over the past year, community feedback has been incorporated into the report to make it an actionable community-supported plan.
Members of the public and media are encouraged to attend. The public can register for the event here: https://miamidadeparks.com/FL/miami-dade-county-parks-recreation/catalog?filter=c2VhcmNoPTEzMDE3OTk=.
