Florida Grand Opera’s 83rd gala transported guests into timeless elegance and vintage charm. Embracing a Dolce Vita-inspired theme, the evening was an ode to unmasked glamour, uniting attendees in a dazzling atmosphere with sumptuous decor, exquisite performances, and the magnetic allure of Italian luxury. Highlights included mesmerizing performances from Lola Astanova on the piano sponsored by Steinway Miami, an array of dancers, acrobats, and opera singers coming together to put on a full show. Lafayette Miami delighted our guests with savory creations that elevated the 83rd Dolce Vita gala to new heights of flavor and sophistication, along with amazing wine and cocktails from sponsors like Penfold’s, Bacardi Center of Excellence, Ruffino, Barton Guestier, and Bcellars! Donizetti’s original romantic comedy brought audiences to their feet as they cheered on an encore following tenor Jonah Hoskins’ performance of “Una furtiva lagrima.” Don’t miss Florida Grand Opera’s rendition of The Elixir of Love, filled with music, laughter, and comedy—just in time for Valentine’s day!

Witness the art of opera up close in a public masterclass with renowned international dramatic soprano Christine Goerke and the talented members of the Florida Grand Opera Studio. This free event will take place February 23rd at 2 pm at the FIU Herbert and Nicole Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts Concert Hall, Modesto A. Maidique Campus, 10910 SW 17th Street, Miami, FL 33199.

Celebrate a Legacy of Brilliance: Black Artists in Opera and the Arts

This special celebration of Black History Month shines a spotlight on the impressive contributions of Black artists and creators in the world of opera while inviting the community to explore the art in an intimate, engaging setting. Mix and mingle while enjoying custom cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and caviar sponsored by locally owned businesses in South Florida until the panel featuring artists, creators, and intellectuals in opera begins. To end the evening, guests can anticipate a performance by FGO’s own talented artists for an opera finale. Students Loved The Elixir of Love’s Dress Rehearsal!

Thousands of students across South Florida enjoyed The Elixir of Love’s final dress rehearsal performance. Students not only experienced the magic of the show but also the opportunity to participate in a Q&A with director Matt Cooksey. The special performance included a guest appearance from FGO board member, opera singer, and fashion designer Radmila Lolly, who served as guest Maestro, conducting the national anthem.
