Marilyn Monroe’s adage, “Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world,” is a fitting mantra for Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce CEO Brittnie Bassant, the youngest woman to lead in the chamber’s history. Like a superhero dons their cape to take on the world, Bassant dons her carefully curated and chic ensemble to align with each event’s theme, reflecting the vibrancy of the city she represents with each look.
Equipped with a colorful wardrobe filled with over a thousand hangers, she is prepared to arrive on brand, strategically tying in her accessories and color palette to fit the theme of each chamber luncheon, gala ribbon-cutting, or rooftop mixer.
Bassant is no stranger to the psychology and impact behind color, masterfully amplifying themes such as women empowerment in white and autism awareness in a rainbow palette. She remains neutral at political events wearing purple, a blend of red and blue, demonstrating that this diva is also diplomatic. Both her wardrobe and her leadership style are strategic, characterized by creativity, innovation, and community, aiding her to foster a thriving, inclusive environment in Miami Beach and beyond.
One of Bassant’s defining moments in fashion and business was hosting a major chamber event at the iconic LIV Nightclub. Walking on stage at LIV with moguls David and Isabel Grutman was a self-described “Mama, I made it” moment, radiating in her gold sequined suit — the perfect “business but make it nightlife” look to capture the moment.
Her advice for anyone trying to find their personal style? “Don’t think that you have to fit somebody else’s box. People ask all the time what to wear, and I say wear what makes you comfortable. Overdressing is a state of mind. You can never be overdressed in Miami! Find a way to incorporate your authentic self and own it, and remember, confidence is the sexiest outfit you can wear,” Bassant asserts.
As Bassant continues to pave the way as a Miami powerhouse, she shows us that the grind can also be glamorous, bringing color to every social cause with style and grace much like her favorite fashion icon Kate MIddleton. Whether she is championing important causes in the community, or creating pathways to uplift others, she is a treasured beacon of style in the South Florida community.
